As a freshman, it can be daunting and overwhelming as you transit into university life. We offer a range of fun-filled activities to help freshmen adapt to campus life at NTU and in Singapore.

Orientation Briefings

Useful information to get international freshmen started with university life and life in Singapore. Learn about the available resources that you can tap on during your academic journey.

Starting from AY2020/2021, all our international orientation briefings are conducted online.

SG101/102 Series (Virtual / Physical)

Experience unique Singaporean culture through online mini-series (up to 30 minutes) with our U.n.I Friends. Learn about our social norms, "national hobby", extremely unique Singlish, and our drinking culture (coffee and tea).

Discover Series / Learning Journeys

Embark on a fascinating heritage and cultural learning of NTU and Singapore. Experience the Singapore public transportation system while exploring the rich heritage of the Jurong heartlands.

The event provides an opportunity to connect with other students outside existing friendship circles. Participants are randomly assigned to small groups and have 15 minutes to get to know new friends before joining the next group. There will be fun prompts to get conversations flowing, with time given to exchange contact details.

 

Solve a series of online puzzles to discover some of Singapore’s most unique heritage icons and learn about interesting facts and stories behind them. Fastest fingers with all the correct answers stand to win attractive prizes such as a mini LED projector, wireless presenter, handheld vacuum, USB hub and wireless Bluetooth headset.
In view of the rising number of COVID-19 clusters in the community and the evolving variants of the virus, we are to remain alert and adhere to Safe Management Measures (SMM). That being said, how much do you actually know about these guidelines and regulations? Familiarise yourself with SMM through a series of online puzzles and learn how to stay safe and live responsibly.

Compulsory online briefing for all new international undergraduate and postgraduate students to share important administrative information. The briefings will be conducted virtually via Microsoft Teams

Delve into the lifestyle of Singaporeans through a 2-part virtual series with our U.n.I Friends. Discover a whole new side of Singapore and learn about our local festivals, social norms, Singlish, unique habits, hawker culture, and more.

The U.n.I LIFE Programme matches current NTU students (U.n.I LIFE Ambassadors) with new international students to ease their transition into Singapore and NTU. Ambassadors will share insights and tips and point new students in the right direction as they commence their NTU journey. Participants will meet their U.n.I LIFE Ambassadors via Zoom during the Virtual Meet & Greet session via Zoom.

National Day Observance Ceremony (NDOC) is an annual event for all NTU faculty, staff, and students to commemorate Singapore’s independence as OneNTU. It serves to remind everyone that the nation has come a long way to achieve the peace and prosperity that it has today, and we should stay united across our diverse cultures to keep Singapore safe, secure, stable, and harmonious.
A learning journey to the beautiful Jurong Lake Gardens, located just a stone’s throw away from NTU campus. An opportunity for students to spend some time outdoors and get to know Singapore’s efforts to inject sustainable and inclusive elements within this renovated garden.
