Membership

Due to enhanced safety measures by the university, on-campus visits by external parties are suspended from 10 May 2021 until further notice. During this period, the following services will be affected:

  • Membership - Processing of library membership applications will be on hold until further notice.
  • Onsite access - This service is temporarily unavailable as NTU libraries will only be open to current NTU staff and students during this period.

Commercial and industrial firms as well as government departments and statutory boards may join as corporate members by paying an annual subscription fee.

  • Two library cards will be issued to each corporate member
  • The cards are non-transferable
  • Commercial and industrial firms must have an office in Singapore

  • The subscription fee for Corporate Members is $749 (inclusive of 7% GST) per annum
  • Payment is to be made after you received notification of successful application
  • Subscription fees paid are not refundable

If you are a former NTU staff who had served the University for more than 10 years, you are eligible for a complimentary 3-year personal membership with us, renewable every 3 years.

You are encouraged to apply for membership before you leave NTU. Applications made after that require a documentary proof of service. Applicants without 10 years of service may apply for personal membership.

Former NTU staff whose residential address is not in Singapore can apply for membership, subject to approval.

E-Resources

Members can access over 100 electronic resources* consisting of databases, ebook collections and audio-visual streaming from this list. Due to licensing restrictions, these are only available onsite at Lee Wee Nam Library and are meant for personal and non-commercial use only.

* Availability of these resources are subject to changes in the Library’s subscriptions. 

Borrowing 

Members enjoy privileges to borrow up to 10 items from the Library's collections.

Visiting

Members are welcome to visit any of the 7 libraries on the Yunnan Campus to consult reference materials, use study spaces or the Quiet Zones.

Eligibility

You are eligible to apply for a Library Alumni membership if you are a graduate of:

  • Nanyang University (NU)
  • Nanyang Technological Institute (NTI)
  • National Institute of Education (NIE)
  • Nanyang Technological University (NTU)

Membership is open only to individuals residing in Singapore and is non-transferable.

 
Membership Fees

The annual subscription fee is $53.50 (inclusive of 7% GST).

New alumni are eligible for a subscription fee waiver in their first year upon graduation. To enjoy this fee waiver, please apply within 1 year of your official month of graduation.

Subscription fees paid are not refundable.

 
Application/Renewal

To apply for or to renew your Library Alumni membership, please read the following Terms & Conditions and Data Protection and Privacy Statement first.

Your application for a new or renewal of your NTU Library Alumni membership is conditioned on your acceptance and compliance with the Terms listed in this section, including policies linked to this page. By accessing or using any of Library services offered to NTU Library Alumni members, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the Terms then you may not access the Library services.

 
Terms & Conditions:
  • Membership is strictly non-transferable.
  • Members must show their membership card to access some services and upon request by Library staff.
  • A valid membership is required to access all services provided for NTU Library Alumni members.
  • The Library reserves the right to suspend or terminate a membership without any refund should the member be found to have breached any of the Terms stated in this Terms & Conditions section.
  • You understand and agree to the list of services available to Library Alumni members stated in the NTU Library Alumni Membership section above, including any access restrictions as explained.
  • You understand and agree to the borrowing privileges for Library Alumni members and the penalties for loss/damaged materials.
  • The Library reserves the right to amend availability and access to any resource (electronic and physical) due to changes in its collection or subscription plans.

Full-time teaching and research staff from tertiary or government-aided institutions of higher learning and research centres may apply for membership.

Membership is open only to individuals from institutions that have reciprocal agreements with NTU and who reside in Singapore.
